How Wagering Works
Wagering requirements determine how many times you must bet the bonus amount (and sometimes the deposit) before you can withdraw winnings. Let’s break it down with a concrete example.
Suppose you claim a 100% deposit bonus of up to €100. You deposit €100 and receive €100 in bonus funds. The wagering requirement is 30x the bonus amount.
Formula: wagering requirement = bonus amount × wagering multiplier
In numbers: €100 × 30 = €3,000
You must place bets totaling €3,000 before the bonus becomes withdrawable. If you play a slot with a 96% RTP, the expected loss over that playthrough is €3,000 × 4% = €120. In other words, statistically, you would lose the entire bonus and some of your deposit. Always check the contribution percentages: slots usually count 100%, but table games may count only 10% or even 0%.
| Game Type | Contribution to Wagering | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | €10 bet counts as €10 |
| Table Games (Roulette, Blackjack) | 10% | €10 bet counts as €1 |
| Poker | 0% | €10 bet counts as €0 |
To avoid disappointment, calculate your effective playthrough before you start. If you only play slots, you need to wager €3,000 in total. If you mix in blackjack, your required turnover increases because each bet contributes less.
Money In, Money Out
Deposits at Stake casino are usually instant for both crypto and fiat methods. Credit cards and e-wallets also process immediately. Withdrawals, however, take longer. For crypto – typically within 30 minutes to 2 hours. For bank transfers or card payouts, it can take 3–5 business days. There is no standard withdrawal limit, but check your account for any specific caps.
Always verify your identity before requesting a large withdrawal. The KYC process involves submitting a photo of your ID and a proof of address. This is a legal requirement under anti-money laundering laws.
As a tip: if you play from a Curacao-licensed casino, remember that winnings may be subject to local income tax in your country of residence. Unlike MGA or local licenses, Curacao does not automatically handle tax withholding. Consult a tax advisor if you win big.
Licence & Player Protection
Stake casino operates under a Curacao license, which is a common regulatory framework for online gambling. While it provides a certain level of oversight, it does not offer the same consumer protections as a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) license. This means that if a dispute arises, your options are more limited.
The platform uses SSL encryption to protect your data, and you should enable 2FA on your account. Even with these measures, always gamble responsibly and within your means. The casino offers tools like deposit limits, session limits, and self-exclusion to help you stay in control.
When Things Go Wrong
Even with the best platforms, issues can occur. Here are five common scenarios and how to handle them:
- Delayed withdrawal: If your withdrawal takes longer than the stated time, first check your email for any KYC requests. If everything is verified, contact customer support via live chat. They usually resolve it within 24 hours.
- Bonus not credited: Make sure you opted in during the deposit process. Some bonuses require a bonus code. Double-check the terms – if you used the correct code and still have no bonus, take a screenshot and contact support.
- Account locked due to verification: This happens when your documents are rejected. Provide clearer photos and ensure the details match your registration. If you think it’s a mistake, ask support to review again.
- Game crashes mid-round: If you have a stable connection but the game freezes, take a screenshot and contact support. The casino can review the game log and credit your stake if it was lost due to a technical error.
- Dispute about a bet outcome: If you believe the result was wrong, request the game history and speak to a support manager. For unresolved issues, you can file a complaint with the Curacao licensing authority, though the process can be slow.
Extra Tips
Responsible gambling tools are your safety net. On Stake casino, you can set a deposit limit, which restricts how much you can deposit in a day, week, or month. You can also set a session limit to remind you to take breaks, or use the self-exclusion feature if you feel you need a longer break. These tools are free and easy to adjust – you can increase limits, but decreases take effect immediately, while increases take 24 hours to become active.
Set a budget before you start and stick to it. Never chase losses, and remember that gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money.
